What are some Bible verses about loving yourself?
The Word of God is His love story to us, His children. God loves us unconditionally, but so many of us struggle with showing that same love to ourselves.
The Word of God is living and it is truth. By speaking Bible verses out loud to ourselves, we are given the strongest tool to defeat the lies that fill our thoughts.
What Does God Say About Loving Yourself?
The Second Commandment that God gives us is to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. What does that even mean to love others as we love ourselves? It means that if we do not love ourselves correctly we will never love others to the fullest extent.
If we do not pour into ourselves we have nothing to pour into others. There is a reason that flight attendants tell you to put an oxygen mask on yourself before helping others. You can only help the other person if you are still alive. Just like you can only love other people with the fullness of love if you love yourself.
Here are 10 Bible verses to read about loving yourself. These Bible verses are to remind you how truly incredible you are and that your life is worth living. As you read each Bible verse, let it permeate your mind.
Keep a copy in your phone, hang them on your mirror, put them in your car or anywhere that you need them to remind you of your greatness. I share a story here about how God transformed my life using His Word.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
God tells us that we need to renew our mind every single day. We have to remind ourselves what the Word of God says about us and not what the world says about us.
When we renew our mind with God’s word we are reminded of all the incredible things that make up who we are as a person. It helps us to show love to ourself by thinking only positive things about ourselves.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.” Psalm 139:14 (NKJV)
God was intentional when He thought us up and wanted us to be born. Everything God makes is marvelous, and that includes you. Take a minute to bask in how much God loves you and how wonderfully He made you. Show yourself some love and thank God for the way He designed you.

You are a part of God’s family. This isn’t just any ordinary family; this is a royal family. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. We are the kings and lords that He is King and Lord over.
Being a king means you have been given rulership, and being a lord means that you are a master over something else. Remind yourself that you are royalty and allow your life to be a reflection of that.
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” John 15:16 (NKJV)

If the words in our thoughts are not words of love they are not from God. His words are the only words we should be thinking speaking. Replacing the negatives thoughts with His words is a way to love yourself.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
