In a previous post, I shared several scriptures to support you on your journey of learning how to love yourself. Today, I want to take it a step further by sharing a 30-day scripture writing plan designed to help you grow deeper in God’s Word and in your understanding of what it truly means to love yourself.

We often read scripture quickly without taking the time to reflect on its meaning. Sometimes, our Bible study time can feel overwhelming—either because we don’t know where to begin or because we feel rushed. That’s exactly why a scripture writing plan is so helpful. It offers structure without pressure, and it encourages deeper engagement with the Word.

Why Use a Scripture Writing Plan?

Writing scripture by hand slows you down and helps you focus. You’re not just reading—you’re meditating. You’re pausing at each word, each phrase, and allowing it to speak to your heart. This process invites reflection, revelation, and personal connection to God’s truth.

The scripture writing plan I’ve created will guide you through 30 verses that speak to the topic of self-love, identity in Christ, and how God sees you. It’s not tied to a specific month, so you don’t have to worry about starting on the “right” day. Just begin when you’re ready. Whether you move through the plan in 30 days or stretch it out longer, the key is to go at your own pace and remain consistent.

How to Use This Scripture Writing Plan

Set aside just 10–15 minutes a day to focus on each verse. You’ll need:

Here’s what each day could look like:

  1. Read the scripture slowly.
  2. Write the verse out in your journal.
  3. Reflect on what it says. What stands out to you? What questions come to mind?
  4. Apply it to your life. How can you live this truth today?
  5. Pray about what you’ve written and ask the Holy Spirit to bring revelation.

This scripture writing plan is a wonderful way to be intentional about spending time in God’s Word, especially if you’re looking to grow spiritually, develop a consistent study habit, or simply slow down and reconnect with God.

You’ll find the full 30-day scripture writing plan listed below, along with a free printable you can download and use during your quiet time.

1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV)

Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

Romans 8:15-17 (NLT)

Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
